Fiber Arts/Skeins

Make plans to participate in this year’s FIBER ARTS & SKEIN competition. Your work will be judged by a professional fiber artist, scored, and ribbons earned for your entry. Awards for fleece and halter entries are important to your breeding program but think about what success awaits those that also have awards for their fiber in finished products!

Consider sponsoring and supplying a knitter, felter or crochet artist using your farm’s yarn or fiber, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Have you sold any yarn or fiber lately and saw the incredible completed results in an amazing sweater, spun skein, or fiber arts project? Encourage the artist, spinner, or crafter to enter their work in the show. You do not have to be a member of AOA to participate in fiber arts. Experienced or beginner, child or adult, all entries are welcome and will be judged based on the experience level of the artist. From sweaters, scarves, mittens, and shawls – to felted monsters or fine art, there is a category for everyone. Pre-registration is required and can be completed on the www.alpacareg.com listed for the VAOBA Expo. Enter the Division, Category, Group, and Class that best fits the fiber arts you are showing. Give a brief description of the item for the Item Name, and enter the artisan that created the Fiber Art and the date it was created. If you entered a fiber arts entry remember to include a written description on a 3 x 5 card. Failure to include this card will result in loss of points from on your entry. Note the date must be within a year of the opening of the show.

Fee for entering fiber arts is $20.00, Skeins is $15

All entries must have a copy of their registration or entry tag and can either be mailed in by November 20th, or delivered to the show no later 6 pm on December 7th.

Mail in entries can be sent to:
