Welcome to Accoyos of Virginia in the beautiful and historic Shenandoah. We are the primary caretakers of these wonderful animals. With the only outside help being a young man who assists with feeding and pasture clean-up, we have a strong working knowledge of each animal’s behavior and medical history. With our involvement nothing is left to chance and there is little opportunity for anything to fall through the cracks.

Accoyos of Virginia, LLC was brought to fruition in 2005. Since getting into the alpaca business in 2000 with full Peruvian alpacas, and seeing that quality sells, we decided to focus on full Accoyo. Our goal is to continue the benefits of genetic gain begun by Don Julio Barreda’s breeding program at Estancia Accoyo. With this recent crop of babies, we think he would be proud!

Much thought goes into each breeding. We refuse to be static and are constantly look for new Accoyo genetics to improve each generation. Breeding our genetically superior herdsires to our high quality hembras, has produced healthy crias with amazing brightness, extreme density and fiber architecture that brings new meaning to the word “crimp”. They are all an outstanding representation of what we have set out to accomplish.

Within minutes of Richmond, All About Alpacas sits on 47 serene, rolling acres surrounded by rich Virginia history. A family operated farm dedicated to the highest quality in all aspects of alpaca breeding, we devote painstaking attention to detail as we seek the finest genetics, and work to build and promote the alpaca fiber industry.

As founding directors in Virginia’s affiliate to the national Association, we worked to organize Virginia farms and promote awareness and education for our industry both statewide and at the national level.

Our impressive herdsire stable includes blue ribbon winning males in all colors with the most highly regarded bloodlines: Legacy, Caligula, Dracula, Hemingway, Dom Lucilio, Peruvian Inca (El Negro), Vengador, Accoyo Thunder, Accoyo Felix, to name a few.

We offer a state of the art barn and boarding facility, have animals with impeccable bloodlines available for breeding and sale, and serve as a mentoring farm to our valued clients. All About Alpacas is a full service farm offering herd starter packages for breeding farms and fiber farms, herdsire breeding services, and monthly boarding. We established our alpaca farm in the spring of 2006. Our goals are to breed quality Alpaca’s with exceptional conformation, superior fleece, and a tender temperament.

Our farm is located between Richmond and Fredericksburg, Virginia in Western Hanover County. We are 20 miles North West of Richmond conveniently located between I-95 and I-64.

We are a small family farm that has grown quickly. Located in the small village of Raphine. We began in 2006 with a small herd of 11 alpacas we have quickly grown to a herd of 32. Our alpacas graze on the 80+ acre farm that has been in our family for over six generations and boarders the old Cyrus McCormick Farm that is now owned by Viriginia Tech. Our alpacas are boarded in a old bank barn that predates the civil war. We can truly say that our heritege runs deep in our family as well as in our pedigrees!

This business is our passion and our future. We love the peacefulness of the humming alpacas and invite you to stop by anytime you find yourself traveling Interstate 81, we are just 2 minutes off Exit 205, west on Rt.606, to Red Cedar Lane on the right. Alpacas of Nottingham Hollow, located in historic Caroline County, is home to over twenty huacaya alpacas in almost every color from white to black. We breed quality alpacas with even temperaments, with an emphasis on colorful fiber for processing into yarns and other goods. Nottingham Hollow offers alpaca sales, breeding services, agistment and brokering as well as an Adopt-A-Paca program.

Chuck and Sue have been active in the alpaca community through participation in the founding of VAOBA, serving on the AOBA Affiliate Congress, The Alpaca Fiber Symposium as well as volunteering for many other events. They strongly believe that education is an important part of the business and enjoy sharing experiences with their clients. Ashland Alpacas was formed in September 2007 with the purchase of five alpacas: three pregnant females, one cria* and one neutered male. In just two years, we have grown to 14 alpacas, four of which are currently pregnant.

We are a small farm that enjoys working with these truly amazing animals. Our goal is to provide quality animals and excellent customer service. We strive to learn all there is to know about alpacas. That’s why we visit larger alpaca farms in states as far away as Oregon and attend numerous shows, farm seminars, fecal clinics, neonatal clinics and fleece workshops. My dream is to go to Peru and actually see the Andes Mountains where these animals originated.
