Type of Alpacas: Huacaya
Our Alpaca division opened in 2004 and we have been growing (literally) every year. We are a small breeder focusing on breeding good quality females to males that will improve the quality of our fleece.  Our small operation allows us to focus on the needs of our buyers faster than most large farms. So whether you buy, agist your animals with us or just visit, we are always a phone call away.
We offer scheduled school visits and fiber sales.  We are a BVD free farm and all of our animals are micro-chipped and DNA blood- typed with The Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI). Please tour our website to learn more about the wonderful world of raising Alpacas and let us know how we can help you. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Wildwood Alpacas is a small, hands-on farm located in historic Virginia between Bowling Green and Fredericksburg. Our goal is to breed healthy, easily handled and colorful alpacas with the finest fleece. We are breeding with the goal of steadily improving fiber characteristics of our dark animals. All of our alpacas, including the whites and lights, have dark color genetics. Our crias are proof of the success of our breeding goals! Through selective breeding, we have produced very promising herdsires who are now starting their breeding careers. Lines include Royal Fawn, Guillermo, Hannibal, Bueno, El Moustachio, Black Mesquite, Legacy, Felix, Leo, Jaxon, Aga Khan and Lethal Weapon among others.
Our services include sales of breeding stock and occasionally fiber males, financing, breeding and mobile breeding, two popular Adopt An Alpaca programs and an on-site retail store carrying yarn and hand made products from our own animals as well as manufactured alpaca goods. We provide hands on advice and continuing support to new alpaca breeders. We attend alpaca shows in Virginia and neighboring states and enter spin-off competitions nationwide. We participate in local fairs, festivals and other events to spread the word about the joys of alpaca ownership.

Type of Alpaca: Suri
Wild & Wooly Farm offers prime alpaca breed stock, raw fleece, roving and warm, cushy alpaca socks. We are building a herd of champion Suri alpaca, noted for the “brightness” or shine their fiber imparts to the yarn and for its very silky smooth feel. People who are allergic to wool can enjoy alpaca sweaters and garments. It is hypoallergenic, akin to cashmere in its fineness, and comes in many beautiful natural colors. It readily accepts dyes, too. We are a small family owned and operated farm committed to diversity in our product line, organic farm practices, and helping our customers enjoy the best of healthy lifestyles. We offer vegetables, bedding plants, sprouts, and new this year: a cut-your-own flower garden. We proudly bear the Virginia certified label “Naturally Grown”. We welcome visitors to pet the alpaca, feed the chickens, pick your own tomatoes or pumpkins, tour the farm and enjoy our wonderful mountain view.

Alpacas in the Heart of Virginia
Located just north of Richmond, VA, Winterberry Farm was established in the 1870’s. The Ponds started Winterberry Farm Alpacas in late 2006. According to the Ponds, “Our breeding program is designed around a genetic mix from strong well established bloodlines and breeders. By standing on the shoulders of these fine breeders, we’ll continue in their tradition of breeding exceptional alpacas. Winterberry is a 15 acre farm, located just east of I95, heading towards the Hanover Courthouse area. The Ponds also plan to sell alpaca apparel manufactured in Virginia and in the USA, as well as imported from South America.

“Woodlynne Farm is committed to breeding the highest quality alpacas with diverse bloodlines and championship genetics from around the country.”
Woodlynne Farm Alpacas is home to 44 alpacas and 3 guard llamas who religiously protect our herd in various paddocks. We breed and raise quality ARI registered Huacaya alpacas. As were are approaching retirement we wanted to get into a lifestyle that would continue to be rewarding as we slowed down the pace of our careers and we have both found that we could not be happier with the decision to raise alpacas. Although not fully retired, alpacas have become our life and something we have found that we can do together and continue to find a sense of achievement with these wonderful animals as we go into plans of retiring from a fast-paced corporate life.
